Tuna chumming fishing, also known as big game, is probably the most thrilling experience in sport fishing in Spain.
The technique consists of casting a continuous bait trail (pieces of sardine or shad) that creates a feeding trail drawing the big tuna right up to the rigged rods. An experience designed for anglers seeking pure adrenaline on the open Catalan Mediterranean.

Giant bluefin tuna
The main target. Catches of specimens of 100–300 kg. An epic fight from 30 min to several hours.
Young bluefin tuna
Specimens of 30–80 kg readily available in season. An intense but more manageable fight.
Shortfin mako
A pelagic shark that turns up during chumming. Catch and release compulsory.
Swordfish
Occasional catch on a night or twilight drift. Specimens of 40–150 kg.
Atlantic bonito
The smallest tuna (3–8 kg), abundant in summer. Good practice for big-game beginners.
Dolphinfish
A colourful, hard-fighting pelagic. It comes to the chumming slick in summer-autumn.
